Phase 1, final week!

This is your last chance to get the background right... Make it count: next week's assignment is th first essay.

This week, go back and read your first three posts.
First, check for any confusion and try to fix it.
Second, make sure you have covered the following things:
   A) The basic timeline of the current conflict
   B) The names and motivations of the principal actors (governments, organizations or parties).
   C) The general geography of the conflict zone and the countries involved.

Good luck!

Phase 1, Week 3

In addition to keeping your posts short this week, make sure to place the specific topic in the context of the conflict in general. Also, focus on covering the following:

- main belligerents and their objectives
- respective bases of operations
- relative strengths

And remember: don't just summarize a whole article!

Phase 1, week 2

This week, try to make your entries about 100 words.
Also, think about the motivations of each of the groups involved in your conflict.

Also, take a look to see if someone from the other class is doing your conflict.

Phase 1!

Here is where you will add the first batch of updates; they should come from the "Background Information" tab of the CFR site.
Each update should be about a paragraph.

This year we're going to work on a running blog about global conflicts. Each of you will  contribute one update each week, and you will write a comprehensive survey of one conflict in particular.

Together, we will produce an eight-month survey of every major confrontation in the world.

You, personally, will be virtually an expert on one of the great conflicts of the modern day.
